The 2007 Merlot, Napa Valley is our second Cab Lovers Merlot! Lavender and ripe cherry components are evident in the nose. Favors of spice, cherry and chocolate make this wine ideal for any BBQ dish. The finish is long and graceful. A perfect balance of fruit, tannins, and acids make this wine very cellar worthy. This wine is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. 75% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. We felt that the Cabernet Sauvignon really improved the structure of this wine. We anticipate this wine to age at least 10 to 12 years in the bottle.

The 2006 Merlot has a special place in my heart, because my wife and I performed a wine blending during our wedding ceremony, where we kept our choice secret, and of all the millions of wines we could have chosen, we both picked the 2006 Merlot. So it will be tough to top, but after tasting the 2007, I think I can make room in my heart for the new vintage. It's a really smooth-drinking good bottle of wine.
